Little did I know when I moved to Korea as a broke university grad what was in store for me!
I couldn’t use chopsticks, I couldn’t cook, I couldn’t speak Korean and I ate birthday cake all week my first week. My first Korean meal started with a bowl of onions in sesame sauce. As I stabbed them with my chopsticks, I thought to myself “I am going to die of starvation!”
13 years later, a loving Yobo, 4 crazy kids in Canada, I am still learning the language, learning to cook but I am a master of chopsticks.
My little family on our recent trip to Korea
I share easy Korean recipes that we eat in our home. My kids love to help me cook and they are often the sous chefs beside me! All the recipes have been tasted and approved by my yobo and the kids! ( He also helps with the techy side of things!)
You will also find comics about our life with 4 kids and 2 cultures that I love to draw. Nothing fancy, just stick people! But they are all true happenings in our little home. Laugh with us, laugh at us! We don’t mind, we don’t take ourselves to seriously over here. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by and experiencing Korea in my kitchen!
Whose that cute family?
I had no idea you had a blog! So cool!
I’m going to add some of these recipes to my next meal plan!
Glad you found it! 🙂
I LOVE this Leslie! Sorry took me so long to get here! It was your garden post that got me! I have inherited 2 gardens, and I am a novice! You could fill a book with what I don’t know about gardening. I will be watching your posts, see what I can learn!
I’ll keep you posted on the progress… hopefully the bunnies don’t devour it all! 🙂
Hey, I love your recipes but I was wondering if you could put a recipe up for budae jjigae, it was my favourite meal when I lived in korea and I really would love to learn how to make it, please!
